Suz was the fifth short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: Dalek Empire. It was written by Sharon Gosling. It featured Susan Mendes.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Susan Mendes has spent the last several years working for the Daleks, helping to improve the efficiency of their workforce by improving working conditions. In doing so, she has given hope to millions of slaves of the Daleks, but her best friend, Kalendorf, does not approve of what she is doing.

Susan thought she was helping, that by allowing the deaths of thousands she was saving millions. She and Kalendorf, by communicating telepathically, have been able to plant the seeds of rebellion. But she suddenly realises that she doesn't believe the rebellion can work and that she is a collaborator. Something in her changes.

When the Daleks take Susan and Kalendorf to Yaldos, Susan is to make a speech for the Daleks. She plans to use the opportunity to begin the rebellion against the Daleks.
