Encounter on Burnt Snake Flat was a Brief Encounter short story published in the Doctor Who Yearbook 1993.
Summary
Tegan is running her father's farm in Australia. She is also worrying about her father, who is laid up in hospital after having been bitten by a snake. The Fifth Doctor arrives to ensure that Tegan is finally free of the Mara's influence, as well as to give her the news that her father will be fine.

References
- After being left behind in England at the end of TV: Resurrection of the Daleks, Tegan managed to return to Australia by getting her family to wire her the money.
Notes
to be added
Continuity
- For Tegan, the events of this story take place three years after the events of TV: Resurrection of the Daleks, while for the Doctor at some unspecified point between that story and TV: The Caves of Androzani. The Doctor is alone when he meets Tegan, so presumably his current companion — Turlough or Peri — is back at the TARDIS.
