: I think Hartnell/Hurndall was said to be the original in The Five Doctors, and mentioned there was "five of [him]" now when meeting Davison. I may need to double check that. That said though, the "this planet is defended" hologram scene in The Eleventh Hour doesn't show anyone between Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston when going through the Doctor's incarnations. Also, in School Reunion, David Tennant is said to have regenerated "half a dozen times" since leaving Sarah Jane to go to Gallifrey. -- Tybort (talk page) 13:47, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

::Thanks, good to know. (But the Atraxi hologram was created from the atraxi database, and they couldn't know about any incarnations during the time war as it was separated from the rest of reality.)Thomsons Gazelle ☎ 17:23, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

The page was simply getting too long to allow for clarity of thought. Thus, it has been archived in a number of pages so as to aid comprehension.

  • The earliest, mostly pre-2011 discussion are at Archive 1
  • Some 2011 discussions are at Archive 2
  • The March 2011-August 2012 discussions about the infobox images can be found at Archive 3.
  • The August 2012-3 September 2012 revival of the infobox discussion is at Archive 4.
  • Archive 5 contains the final round of discussion on the infobox picture, along with the final determination of consensus. To give you the short answer here, though, it was decided that we will move to rotating, captioned images of all eleven Doctors. This solution will be implemented within the next week or so.

Infobox pic implementation

Sorry for the delay in implementation. You should now find that this page does what was agreed by the community. Oh, hell, I just noticed that the discussion called for captioned images. I guess it doesn't do that right now. If anyone would like to make captioned versions of these constituent pictures (you can get a list from looking at Docpic).

Actually, now that I've set up mostly different pictures for this page than those which exist on the individual incarnation pages, I'm not so sure captions are all that necessary. I think it's fine as is. Note that the pictures are locked down. To spare us the agony of having to go through endless rounds of discussion on which pictures best represent the several Doctors, I've simply locked Docpic. We've talked this one to death, people. What we have is what's gonna be.
A little word about technical matters. There's a tiny, <1 second glitch that happens when transiting from One to Two. You get this fast impression of Eleven in a Stetson. It happens only on the first time through all the Doctors. It's showing the picture that Opera users see al the time, because this technique doesn't work for Opera. No biggie though. Opera's not supported by Wikia.

Is this gallery working? All I get are 12 pictures of the Doctor stacked ontop of each other. ǝsʞpɐןǝ (talk page) 09:57, 13 November 2012
It's working for me in Chrome Version 23.0.1271.64, Firefox 16.0.2 and Safari 6.0.2. It doesn't (yet) work in Opera, but Opera isn't supported by Wikia (and, in any case, Opera doesn't produce a stack of 12 pictures; it freezes on one). I don't have the ability to check IE performance, but it should be okay with the latest version of IE. It's possible you just needed to have reloaded the page or to have cleared your cache, as I was doing a bit of tinkering on it yesterday. If you're still experiencing problems, please do let me know which browser and version you're using.

Working now (latest Chrome). ǝsʞpɐןǝ (talk page) 15:26, 13 November 2012
Just to let you know, it does work in IE but does have the glitch you mentioned. Shambala108 15:28, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
Well, it's not working on Firefox 16.0.2 from my end (Chrome and IE work with the Eleventh Doctor glitch). It shows the Doctors stacked on top of one another. -- Tybort (talk page) 17:55, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, working now. -- Tybort (talk page) 21:59, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
Glad everyone is finding that it's working now. I've changed the order slightly to get rid of the odd introductory glitch. Eleven's been pulled to the top, so now it's running 11-->10, instead of 1-->11. This allows me to set the "fallthrough" pic for Opera users to be the same pic that starts the animation, eliminating the glitch altogether.

This implementation does not work in the wikiamobile skin. It's not high on the list of priorities, but a solution is being sought.
