The Purpura Pawn was the second story in the Bernice Summerfield anthology A Life in Pieces. It was written by Paul Sutton.
Summary
Irving Braxiatel is invited to Earth by an old friend. Meanwhile Bev Tarrant and Adrian Wall are on there way to Earth in order to obtain the Purpara Pawn. A criminal syndicate won't let them leave the planet alive.
