Professor Lorraine Baynes, who published under the name L.R.S. Baynes, wife of Arnold Baynes, was an historian who worked for TransAllied, Inc. She was interested in the Daleks and Davros. She wanted to write the definitive biography of Davros. By the time she actually met Davros, Lorraine had penned Dalek Genius and The Dark Side of Skaro. In later life, she was a professor of history at Dawkins College, Oxford. (AUDIO: Davros)
Behind the scenes
Her name is a likely reference to Lorraine Baines, a major character in Back to the Future.[source needed]
