Elizabeth Woodville was the wife of Edward IV, the Queen of England from the early 1460s until 9 April 1483, and therefore a major player in the Wars of the Roses. Her sons, the eldest of which was the un-crowned Edward V, were collectively known as "the Princes in the Tower".
