He was a High Priest of a cult that believed that the Osirans were gods. His family was serving these gods for hundreds of generations over nearly five thousand years. (COMIC: Spiral Staircase) He and Erik sent Cleo to retrieve an artefact (COMIC: The Fountains of Forever) that they thought would let them communicate with their gods and earn ascension as a reward.
