The Rising Night is a made-for-audio Tenth Doctor story, written by Scott Handcock and produced for BBC Audio, released in July 2009.

Read by Michelle Ryan, the story is released under the same format as the BBC Books Tenth Doctor Adventures book series and their associated audio book adaptations, but was released exclusively to audio. It is the fourth of its kind following Pest Control, The Forever Trap and The Nemonite Invasion (several original audio stories of this nature have also been issued based upon Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures). It is the first to be read/performed by someone who is not a regular cast member, although Ryan did guest star in the special Planet of the Dead.

Set after the events of Journey's End, it is the first BBC Audio story to set in the Tenth Doctor's post-Donna Noble companionless era.
