Proxima was a space station in the Centaur belt operated by Earth Central in the late 30th century. It was the site of Kalu and Jennings's chronon experiments.
The Fifth Doctor, Tegan Jovanka, Nyssa and Marc arrived on Proxima in the TARDIS and learnt of Kalu's discovery and harnessing of interstitial time. They thwarted her plans to achieve evolutionary perfection. (AUDIO: Interstitial)
