The Royal Navy was the navy of Great Britain.
Organisation
The navy was led by the First Sea Lord. (AUDIO: Eye of the Storm)
One of their bases was the HMS Seaspite. (TV: The Sea Devils)
The Navy had an Intelligence Division. (AUDIO: Criss-Cross)
History
The Royal Navy possessed Dreadnought warships. (PROSE: Just War) These were developed in 1906 and launched in February of that year. They were used at sea during the First World War. (AUDIO: Peace in Our Time)
Lt Henry Clarke served as a member of the Naval Intelligence Division. (AUDIO: Criss-Cross)
In the 20th century, the Master stole electronic spares from HMS Seaspite, disguising himself as a naval officer, in order to create a device to make contact with the Sea Devils. Later, the Royal Navy was ordered by Private Secretary Walker to attack the hostile Sea Devil base. The Sea Devils captured the HMS Seaspite, but additional naval reinforcements called in by Captain Hart took it back. (TV: The Sea Devils)
In March 2006, Mickey Smith hacked into the Royal Navy through the internet with the Ninth Doctor's help to launch harpoon missile UGM-84A from HMS Taurean at 10 Downing Street, defeating the Slitheen. (TV: World War Three)
In the 2010s, Charles Fisher served as First Sea Lord. (AUDIO: Eye of the Storm)
