Juan Romero was an officer in the republican army in the Spanish Civil War. The Seventh Doctor help look after his men after they were bombed. He told Melanie Bush that he was a farmer before the war. He help to defend the town when Antonio Ferrandon became infected with the God Seed. He wanted Mel to stay behind. He contacted the Nationalists to save the country, something he thought he wouldn't need to do. (AUDIO: Fiesta of the Damned)
