Notes

The colour reprint of the above panel.
  • This story was reprinted in DWCC 20 and Voyager.
  • The title Abel's Story, when paired with Kane's Story, forms a reference to Cain and Abel, two siblings mentioned in the book of Genesis of the Bible.

Continuity

  • The TARDIS is noted to have circuitry that "can detect every disturbance in the temporal fabric of the galaxy... and, if necessary, intervene." Here, it overrides his decision to travel to Ankara without his direct knowledge. The TARDIS would similarly act to save the lives of the First Doctor and his companions in TV: The Edge of Destruction.
  • Abel Gantz's laboratory is destroyed by a rogue chunk of the time vortex created when the TARDIS breaks free of the titular COMIC: Funhouse.
