Information from TV: The Seeds of Death, PROSE: The Seeds of Death, PROSE: The Doc's Side of the Moon and GAME: Lost in Time needs to be added.

These omissions are so great that the article's factual accuracy has been compromised. Check out the discussion page and revision history for further clues about what needs to be updated in this article.

Moonbase One, later Moonbase Laika, was a UNIT facility located on the Moon. (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes, The Doc's Side of the Moon)

History

Liz Shaw had helped UNIT plan the Moonbase as early as the 1970s. (AUDIO: The Cloisters of Terror) Giles had been told it had been built in the 1970s. (PROSE: A Worthy Successor)

During the Sycorax invasion of Earth in 2006, (TV: The Christmas Invasion, et al.) Sgt A. Frederick mentioned on an operations board that UNIT was building a "secret mission control centre" to support mankind's expansion to the stars. (PROSE: Guinevere One)

In 2006, UNIT set up Moonbase One as a scientific research station. (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes)

Liz was stationed at the facility in 2010. She could not attend the Eleventh Doctor's funeral as she could not return until the following Sunday. (TV: Death of the Doctor) Her presence there stopped her from being able to help Giles and Archie MacTavish investigate a series of deaths connected to Cyberon in the Vault. On the journey there, Giles suspected Archive was jealous that he couldn't go too, which was indeed the case. (PROSE: A Worthy Successor)

After UNIT was shut down circa 2018, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart hoped that it was empty. (PROSE: Lucy Wilson and the Bledoe Cadets)

In 2023 it was given to World State and renamed Moonbase Laika. (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes)

According to one account, the Moon was an egg that was destroyed when it hatched in 2049. The creature laid an egg that replaced the original Moon. (TV: Kill the Moon)

By 2070, the Moonbase was used as a weather control station. (TV: The Moonbase, PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes, The Doc's Side of the Moon) It controlled Earth's weather with the Gravitron that was installed in the 2050s. The Telosian Cybermen attempted to take it over in 2070, but were stopped by the Second Doctor. (TV: The Moonbase)

Later in its history, the Moonbase was used as a prison and a children's amusement park. (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes)

Alternate timeline

In an alternate timeline where the Cybermen allied with Rassilon and began rewriting history, (COMIC: Supremacy of the Cybermen) the Second Doctor was partially converted while on the Moonbase. (COMIC: Prologue: The Second Doctor)

References

When recounting past victories over the Cybermen, the Twelfth Doctor recalled defeating them on the Moonbase. (TV: The Doctor Falls)
