Bubble People was the fourth story in the anthology Stranger Tales of the City. It featured characters from author Richard Wright's previous The City of the Saved short story The Mystery of the Rose.

- The Xencorp Perception Engine creates a filter in the perceptions of people who could not adjust to living in the City, editing out things they can't deal with and making others unconsciously ignore them.
