American Army Air Corps
You may be looking for United States Air Force.

During the First World War, Josiah Rowe's grandfather served as a pilot in the American Army Air Corps. At a base in Foggia, Italy, the Ninth Doctor ingratiated himself with the the CO, was in a photograph Josiah's grandfather took of his fellow pilots, and stole a Spad XIII. Behind the scenes

In the real world, the United States Army did have a training facility in Foggia, Italy during World War I.[1] However, at that time the aviation branch of the US Army was named the United States Army Air Service. It was renamed the United States Army Air Corps in 1926. The reference to the "American Army Air Corps" in Have You Seen This Man? was an error on the part of the real Josiah Rowe, who contributed that entry to the "Who is Doctor Who?" website.
