An old man lived in a hut at the edge of the universe. Lotto VI sought knowledge, and the man, under the mental influence of Auteur, directed him to find the Book of Christmas in the Plume Coteries' Library. Not wanting to leave loose ends, Auteur let the "innocent old man" free of his possession after his plans were thwarted.
