The design appeared as a red telephone box, with a pair of doors with glass windows leading into the control room. The exterior appeared to be in use when the First Doctor encountered Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright on Barnes Common and they, along with the Doctor's granddaughter Susan, wound up in an adventure on Skaro.
