- The Dalek renders were provided by James Johnson[1].
- As with previous renders, Johnson provided a closer look at the Daleks featured on this cover.
- The Black Dalek featured on this cover is styled akin to the 1970s era Dalek props, similar to those seen in Planet of the Daleks, but with some design cues taken from some of the later 1980s Supreme Daleks, notably from Resurrection of the Daleks. This design features an almost completely black profile with silver sensor globes[2].
- Johnson also makes note that some of the regular Daleks featured on the cover are "Dalek Goons", which was a production term used for Daleks featured in Planet of the Daleks that were made from cheaper materials and less prominent compared to the "Hero Dalek" props. This would make a rare instance of a production term being adopted into licensed media.
- The Driller Dalek is a variant of the Special Weapons Dalek featured in previous television stories, but with a large tricone drill in place of the traditional cannon. It also features tracks for movement instead of the regular Dalek fender, a design trait previously seen on the Berserker Dalek, also rendered by Johnson[3].
