Clive Finch was a human conspiracy theorist from England on Earth.
Biography
By 2005, Clive was maintaining a website, Who is Doctor Who, focused on the mysterious Doctor that kept appearing throughout recorded history.
Rose Tyler contacted Clive shortly after having her own encounters with the Ninth Doctor. Clive believed that the name "The Doctor" was a title handed down from father to son, and showed Rose photographs of the incarnation she met, illustrated at several different points in history.
Clive had a wife, Caroline, and a son, Jacob. Shortly after his meeting with Rose, he and his family went on a shopping trip when the Autons were activated. Clive was amazed to realise that the stories he had heard about the Doctor were true. He was then shot dead by an Auton. (DW: Rose)
Sometime after Clive's death, his website was taken over by Mickey Smith, who eventually renamed it "Defending the Earth!". (WEB: Defending the Earth!)
Behind the scenes
- It is unclear if Clive was tracking various incarnations of the Doctor. He only showed Rose pictures of the ninth incarnation, but his line "That's your Doctor there, isn't it?" suggests he has records of the other incarnations of the Doctor.
