"Castaway (comic story)" is the invented title of the first of two Third Doctor comic stories in the 1971 TV Comic Annual. Like many pre-Marvel comic strips, it had no title on initial publication. The name gained traction after being used by Jean-Marc Lofficier in The Terrestrial Index, and later by John Ainsworth in his then-comprehensive listing of Third Doctor strips in DWCC #4.

Summary

A desert island castaway is using high-pitched sound to make a giant squid attack passing ships. The Doctor and the Brigadier are holidaying on the Brigadier's private yacht when it is attacked by the squid.
