Buried Secrets was the first release for the second series of Sarah Jane Smith audio stories produced by Big Finish Productions.

- Jacqueline Pearce (The Keeper) previously played Chessene in DW: The Two Doctors, Sherilyn Harper in BFA: The Fearmonger and Admiral Mettna in WC: Death Comes to Time whereas Stephen Greif (Sir Donald Wakefield) played Kwundaar in BFA: Primeval. They are both best known for their roles in the BBC science fiction series Blake's 7, in which they played Supreme Commander Servalan and Commander Travis respectively.
