Andy Goddard is a BAFTA-nominated television director who has been active in British television since the late 1990s. One of his first assignments was on Stacy Stone, a programme aimed at the same teenaged audience as The Sarah Jane Adventures. After working most of 2001 on that programme, he spent the next few years directing occasional episodes of Taggart, Casualty, The Bill, Twisted Tales and others. He began working on Torchwood in its first season, and was one of its principal directors. The plurality of the first two seasons of Torchwood were directed by either Goddard or Ashley Way. As of 2011, his most recent directing effort in the DWU family of shows was The Next Doctor.
