- 1 Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee is celebrated in the United Kingdom. (DW: Mawdryn Undead)
- 1 Tegan Jovanka and Nyssa arrive in the TARDIS near Brendon Public School, where they meet retired UNIT Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart. During the course of the events that follow, Stewart encounters a future version of himself from 1983, causing a paradox that leaves his 1977 self with partial amnesia, most notably no memory of the Doctor.
