Cover prices on Doctor Who related merchandise, such as Doctor Who annuals and toys appeared to have radically different price points from this point forward, even though the initial changeover kept the value of money stable. Countdown #1 — which was the new home for Third Doctor comic stories – published a few days later, becoming the first Doctor Who-related magazine to be sold entirely in new pence.
