Olaf Eriksson was an 11th century Norseman. King Sitric Silkbeard of Dublin sent him to the Abbey of Kells in 1006. The king wanted Olaf to enlist the help of Brother Bernard, the chief librarian at the Abbey, in protecting the Book of Kells from the Irish-born King Brian Boru of Munster, who sought to use it to seize the throne of Dublin from Sitric. He thought that the Eighth Doctor was a monk and Tamsin Drew was a Valkari. (AUDIO: The Book of Kells)
