John Alkin played Lomand in the Doctor Who television story Planet of Fire.
Alkin's other credits included Z-Cars, Space: 1999, The Liver Birds, All Creatures Great and Small, Secret Army, Rumpole of the Bailey and Minder. However, he is best known for playing Barry Deeley on Crown Court and DS Tom Daniels on The Sweeney. He also played DS Daniels in the films Sweeney! and Sweeney 2.
