The Third Series of The Sarah Jane Adventures will feature 12 episodes split over 6 two part stories. It will air on the CBBC network in the fall of 2009. The Cast will consist of the return of Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith aswell as Tommy Knight as Luke Smith, Daniel Anthony as Clyde Langer and last Anjli Mohindra as Rani Chandra. K-9 will appear in 6 of the 12 episodes. David Tennant will appear as the Doctor in 2 of the 12 episodes

Rumours and Announcements
- The Doctor will appear in two of the episodes(one story). This story will also feature K9
- On 26 May 2009, the BBC Press Office issued an announcement also confirming the apperance, including publicity photos. Comments by Russell T. Davies also reveal that the storyline may involve Sarah Jane getting married: "It's more than just a cameo from the Tenth Doctor! He's a proper part of the story." He also added that the two-parter is "extraordinary, wild and powerfully moving," cryptically adding, "let's just say that the wedding of Sarah Jane will be a day for everyone to remember!".[1]
- K-9 will appear in 6 of the 12 episodes of the series. While this has yet to be confirmed, the BBC announcement regarding Tennant did confirm that K-9 appears in at least his two episodes.
- The announcement also mentions that the Judoon are to appear but it's not known if this is in the same episode as the Doctor.
- The series will air on BBC One. This Rumour derives from some of the media reports on Tennant's appearance but is not mentioned in the 26 May press released. [source needed]
