About Me

I am one of the founding sysops of the TARDIS Index File. I was living in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the United States, at the time I founded this wiki, but have recently relocated to Swansea, South Carolina, to be with my partner.

My first exposure to Doctor Who was when I saw the Peter Cushing film, Dr. Who and the Daleks, on a local television station when I was six years old. I first started watching the television series with Tom Baker as the Doctor on the North Carolina Center for Public Television network in summer of 1981; I had read articles about the series in Starlog and Fangoria magazines for three years previous to that. The first story of the series I watched was "Destiny of the Daleks."

My interest in Who waned somewhat after my local PBS station dropped the series, about six months after the series was "rested" by the BBC in 1989. My interest was briefly revived after I read some of the Virgin novels and watched the 1996 television movie on the Fox network. It has been revived (or regenerated?) again by the arrival of the new series.

Having made a few contributions to Wikipedia, such as the article on Hanns Heinz Ewers, I was inspired to start a wiki on Doctor Who after discovering Memory Alpha, the wiki community devoted to Star Trek.
