Petra Markham played Safiya in the Doctor Who television story The Crusade. She later played the character of Annie in Graceless IV. This appearance came 51 years after The Crusade. She is therefore tied with Philip Bond for the longest gap between roles in the Doctor Who franchise.
She is best known for playing Mikki Diamond in the final season of children's TV series Ace of Wands and Doreen Carter in the film Get Carter.
One of her sisters was makeup artist Sonia Markham.
