Sanjeev Bhaskar portrayed Colonel Ahmed in the Doctor Who story Death in Heaven. He previously voiced Dr. Avishka Sangakkara in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio stories The Eight Truths and Worldwide Web. He is married to Meera Syal.

Bhaskar is perhaps best known for the sketch show Goodness Gracious Me, which he co-wrote and starred in alongside Syal, and Nina Wadia.
