Professor Lorraine Baynes, who published under the name L.R.S. Baynes, wife of Arnold Baynes, was an historian who worked for TransAllied, Inc. She was interested in the Daleks and Davros. She wanted to write the definitive biography of Davros. By the time she actually met Davros, Lorraine had penned Dalek Genius and The Dark Side of Skaro. In later life, she was a professor of history at Dawkins College, Oxford.
The Doctor started reading her books before his sixth incarnation, although "the idea of reading two rather turgid volumes written by an apologist about the Daleks" appalled him. (AUDIO: Davros)
Notes
- Her name might be a reference to the maiden name of the Back to the Future character Lorraine Baines McFly.
