Naomi A. Alderman is an English author who wrote the Eleventh Doctor BBC New Series Adventures novel Borrowed Time.
With the 2011 publication of Borrowed Time, Alderman became the first Jewish woman to write a licensed Doctor Who novel.
She returned eight years later to write the Thirteenth Doctor short story Time Lapse for the anthology Thirteen Doctors, 13 Stories.
Alderman's prose debut was the 2006 novel Disobedience, a story about a rabbi's daughter who comes out as a lesbian. That successful work was followed by another novel, The Lessons, in 2010.
Apart from novels, Alderman is known for writing a regular column on technology for the Guardian.[1]
A longtime Doctor Who fan, Alderman has cited Peter Davison as her childhood favourite Doctor.[2] One of her favourite stories is The Masque of Mandragora.[2] A reference to the Mandragora Helix appears in Borrowed Time.
