Continuity
- When looking at himself in the red sea, the Doctor shouts, "Fantastic". (TV: Rose, Dalek)
- The Doctor previously referred to himself as a doctor of "practically everything" during his third (TV: Spearhead from Space) and fifth (TV: Four to Doomsday) incarnations. He would do so again during his tenth incarnation. (TV: Utopia)
- The Doctor would later return to Mars in his next incarnation and find another malicious water based entity, namely the Flood. (TV: The Waters of Mars)
