Great Yarmouth was a coastal English town that was a two-hour drive from London. Its buildings were grey and dilapidated.
In May 1973, a Meercock shuttle landed in Great Yarmouth's beach, near the Britannia Pier. The Third Doctor, Jo Grant, Iris Wildthyme, and Tom came to Great Yarmouth to investigate. While the others were distracted by a Meercock, Jo was kidnapped by Verdigris, who was disguised as the Master disguised as the Brigadier. The Doctor and Iris were teleported to the Meercock spaceship orbiting Earth, leaving Tom alone. Tom left Great Yarmouth to find the Children of Destiny in London. (PROSE: Verdigris)
