World Trade Center

The World Trade Center was a large complex of buildings in New York City, consisting most prominently of two tall towers. (COMIC: Time Lady of Means)

In 1965, the First Doctor and Dodo tried to take a taxi to Battery Park via the World Trade Center. The driver did not know where the latter was and the Doctor realised it would only be constructed five years later. (PROSE: Salvation)

It was destroyed in a terrorist attack on 11 September 2001, (AUDIO: The Longest Night, PROSE: Touched by an Angel) and event which would go on to be known as 9/11. (PROSE: I Was a Monster!!!, The Danger Men)

Behind the scenes

The World Trade Centre's two towers were more commonly referred to as the "Twin Towers". Both were completely destroyed in the September 11 terrorist attacks.
