Mister E was a television series from 1963 to at least 1977 about the "Mysterious Mister E".

In 1963, Mutakfever was the term for the phenomenal popularity of the part robotic and part mutant enemies of Mister E.

A licenced comic by Amazing Comics existed for the series. In 1977, Jim Sheldrake wrote back-up stories for the comic that did not feature Mister E. One was about a Time War waged by the "Black Sun Brigade" against the Temperons of Mister E's home planet in return for atrocities that the Temperons had not yet committed. Sheldrake would later claim to have no memory of writing the story. (COMIC: The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Enemy)

Behind the scene

Like Professor X, Doctor Omega, and Doctor X, Mister E serves as an in-universe analogue to Doctor Who.
