Parallel universe (TV Action!)
- You may be looking for the idea of a meta-fictional universe in general.
A parallel universe existed where the adventures of the Doctor were chronicled in a science fiction series called Doctor Who, which later had a magazine title Doctor Who Weekly.
On 12 October 1979, the Eighth Doctor and Izzy Sinclair got sucked into this universe, due to the TARDIS materialising at the same time Beep the Meep activated a dimensional warp while fleeing police. Izzy was able to deduce that they had arrived on a set of the BBC Television Centre. After being chased by zombified child actors, the Doctor and Izzy arrived on the set of Doctor Who, where Beep planned to enslave the world, and ultimately the galaxy, using raw black star energy. Although he did not recognize the Eighth Doctor, he believed actor Tom Baker to be the actual Fourth Doctor. Baker believed Beep to be the newest monster for the series, and infuriated him with his endless rambling. Izzy used this opportunity to dismantle Beep's equipment, and he was subsequently sent to the zoo. The Doctor was still puzzled over where he was until Izzy handed him the first issue of Doctor Who Weekly. (COMIC: TV Action!)
