A version of Andred lived on an alternate Gallifrey. He was married to a version of Romana who never travelled with the Doctor and had a son, Antonin, with her. The pair married out of love, although Andred was a commoner and Romana's father did not approve. The lived together at the House of Heartshaven, where Vansell served as butler. Andred died about six months before the Romana from N-Space came to the alternate Gallifrey with Irving Braxiatel, Narvin, Leela and K9.
In life, Andred served as a Commander in the Chancellery Guard, just as the Andred from the primary Gallifrey had. He supposedly died by accident from crossfire during a riot in the Capitol, but at the time of his death he had all his regenerations before him and should have simply regenerated.
