• 7 January - Big Finish's The Companion Chronicles audio anthology The Second Doctor: Volume One took place at the Moat Studios.
• 7 January - Big Finish confirmed the Multi-Master trilogy, consisting of And You Will Obey Me, Vampire of the Mind and The Two Masters.
• 19 January - The Big Finish audio stories A Full Life and The Ingenious Gentleman Adric of Alzarius was recorded at the Moat Studios.

March

• 24 March - Recording for Damascus and Gardeners' Worlds took place at The Moat Studios.

April

• 4 April - For Tonight We Might Die began filming.

June

• 14 June - The readthrough of The Pilot took place.
• 20 June - Filming on The Pilot and Smile began.

July

• 18 July - The readthrough of Knock Knock took place.
• 28 July - Filming on The Pilot and Smile wrapped.

August

• 1 August - Thin Ice and Knock Knock started filming.

September

• September - The Return of Doctor Mysterio was filmed.

• 23 November - Filming on Extremis began.

• December - Filming on the fifth production block, which included the Extremis two-parter, took a break for the holidays in December, and continued into 2017, followed by the next two blocks and the 2017 Christmas special.
