You may be looking for the real David Whitaker.

At some point between the Dalek Chronicles' arrival to Earth and their full publication in 2094, David Whitaker worked on translating the story-cubes into a form that humanity could understand. The first story-cube he worked on, alongside his colleague Alan Fennell, detailed the origins of the Daleks. He later translated the rest of the Chronicles on his own.
