Sonya Khan was Yasmin Khan's younger sister.
Biography
The second daughter of Hakim and Najia Khan, Sonya lived with her parents and sister, Yaz, in Flat 34 of the Park Hill estate in Sheffield. She was unemployed (TV: Arachnids in the UK) and wanted her sister to move out of their house so she could have her room. (TV: The Ghost Monument) The two sisters did not get along, (TV: Arachnids in the UK) although Yaz was surprised to find that she missed her sister whilst on Desolation. (TV: The Ghost Monument)
In 2017, Sonya called the police, worried that Yaz was going to "do something stupid". (TV: Can You Hear Me?)
When Yaz returned to Sheffield after her involuntary adventures in time and space, Sonya teased her sister for bringing back the Thirteenth Doctor and Ryan Sinclair to their flat for tea, claiming that she had no friends. She flirted with Ryan. (TV: Arachnids in the UK)
Sonya celebrated her grandmother Umbreen's birthday party at the Khans' flat. Umbreen gave Sonya a present that Sonya's grandfather once gave her. While Umbreen was giving a present to Yaz, she remarked that Yaz was her favourite granddaughter. This caused Sonya to be sad and shocked. (TV: Demons of the Punjab)
She got a three jobs in customer services but was fired each time. In 2020, she and Yaz commemorated the third anniversary of Yaz's decision not to commit suicide with dinner and a film. (TV: Can You Hear Me?)
