"Remote worlds" was the name used for planets under the control of the Remote in the context of the Spiral Politic, the Great Houses' symbolic representation of the causal relationship between all worlds in their sphere of influenced. Because the Remote were so unpredictable, the Remote worlds' position in the Spiral was extremely changeable. As a result, the Great Houses destroyed as many of them as possible during the early stages of the War in Heaven. Notable Remote worlds according to The Book of the War included Ordifica and Fallahal. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
Gustous R Thripsted believed that the Voord were a kind of prototypal Remote. (PROSE: Interference) The Voord originated on Marinus, (TV: The Keys of Marinus) which, according to one account, later became Mondas, (COMIC: The World Shapers) a planet whose history the Time Lords had long found frustratingly difficult to observe. (PROSE: The Cyber Files)
