David Whitaker was an acquaintance of Terry Nation who helped him translate the Dalek Chronicles.

Suspecting that more of these records of future history had fallen through time to 20th century Earth, he began helping Nation to look for them and translate them. (PROSE: The Daleks) The first story-cube he worked on, alongside his colleague Alan Fennell, detailed the origins of the Daleks. He later translated the rest of the Chronicles on his own. (PROSE: The Dalek Chronicles Found!) Nation and Whitaker also worked together in adapting one of the story-cubes into a stage play. (PROSE: The Daleks)
