Murder is criminal offence involving the death of one or more individuals.
Murdering a being can result in numerous penalties, common ones are life imprisonment and execution. Killing beings on a battlefield does not usually count as a murder. A killing that classifies as murder usually means it was a targeted attack on a single individual. It is described as one of the most serious crimes in the Universe. Assassination is a murder which is ordered by a superior and tasked to an assassin.
It can be contrasted with genocide, which involves the murder of entire populations.
Examples of Murder
- Sarah Jane Smith declared Styre a murderer after he killed Roth as he ran away. (DW: The Sontaran Experiment)
