Luther is a British psychological crime thriller released on BBC One. Created by Neil Cross, the series follows the titular DCI John Luther, played by Idris Elba. The series began on 4 May 2010.

Although a BBC series, Luther has experienced only one official crossover with the Doctor Who universe, which took place in the 2015 promotional video 'Sprout Boy meets a Galaxy of Stars [+]Loading...["Sprout Boy meets a Galaxy of Stars (TV story)"]. During this story, John Luther attends a Christmas party along with the Twelfth Doctor and the titular Sprout Boy. He is portrayed here with the likeness of Idris Elba.
