A future incarnation of the Doctor once recounted one of his adventures, one that had been "cancelled" — specifically one featuring the Fourth Doctor, Romana II and K9 Mark II battling against Skagra and the Krargs.
Biography
When the Doctor found himself in a museum displaying exhibits of several of his past adversaries, he mentioned that he had "always felt at home in museums"; and had once defeated the Cybermen, the Daleks, Davros, a giant robot, Yeti, Gundans and Krargs.
After encountering the Krarg exhibit, the Doctor recalled his "cancelled" adventure and — with only partial records remaining — proceeded to recount the missing scenes. (HOMEVID: Shada)
Appearance
This incarnation resembled an aged version of the Fourth Doctor, with grey hair, much like the Doctor's distant future self the Curator documented in other accounts, (TV: The Day of the Doctor, PROSE: The Day of the Doctor, COMIC: The Then and the Now) the elderly Doctor living in the TARDIS who told stories of his earlier self's exploits, (TV: Introduction to the Night) and the one who continued adventuring in his TARDIS and occasionally used a Berillian time transformer to change the future. (TV: Superannuation advertisements) He wore a dark grey pin-striped suit similar to his tenth incarnation, as well as a pale blue shirt and a floral tie. (NOTVALID: Shada)
Behind the scenes
- This Doctor does not appear in the many adaptations of Shada as he served as out-of-universe linking narration for the scenes of the original story that had not been filmed in its incomplete VHS release. Tom Baker played this incarnation referring to himself as the Doctor but also talked about the actors starring in the story. The narration scenes were filmed in the Doctor Who "Behind the Sofa" exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image, London.
- This Doctor bears a close resemblance to Introduction to the Night's Doctor, the Superannuation advertisements' Doctor and The Day of the Doctor's the Curator as they are all intended to be incarnations of the Doctor played by an older Tom Baker. Whether they are intended to be the same version is unknown, and, at any rate, only the Curator appears in material considered valid by this Wiki.
