Doctor Jones was the seventh story in the Origin Stories anthology, published by BBC Books. It was written by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé and featured Martha Jones, the Ninth Doctor and Francine Jones.

  • The story contradicts The Frozen Wastes, which depicted Martha as wishing to pursue a career in medicine from a young age and being obsessed with the topic throughout her childhood. Here, she is shown to make the decision at the age of sixteen, after a forgotten encounter with the Ninth Doctor, having never previously shown an interest in medicine.
  • The story also contradicts The Witch Hunters, and real-world history for that matter, by depicting Abigail Williams as a victim of the Salem witch trials rather than one of the main accusers.
