The Fourteenth Doctor gained a new TARDIS control room during his early existence, which was also used by the Fifteenth Doctor.
It was very spacious, sported controllable coloured lights, and had a pristine hexagonal console. The Fifteenth Doctor's version of the room added a jukebox.
Layout[[edit] | [edit source]]
The interior was a curved room with roundels and multiple walkways dominating the area, leading to various pathways into the TARDIS corridors. The roundels provided most of the light in the room, and could change colour from white to orange, green, purple or blue. Similar to the interiors used by the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors, the TARDIS had multiple levels, accessed by ramps, and many doors leading deeper into the ship. The console was in the centre of the room, and appeared to be a mix of built-in controls and spare parts.
The time rotor once again connected to the ceiling, and contained an intricate internal mechanism, with a blue light inside that rose while the ship was in flight. (TV: The Star Beast [+]Loading...["The Star Beast (TV story)"]) The TARDIS scanner had returned to being a screen, albeit smaller than previous scanners, attached to the console via an arm that could rotate around the console, and had several buttons included. This control room also had a wheelchair ramp that folded out from the bottom of the TARDIS doors, making this control room wheelchair-accessible. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) The angle of the floor just inside the door could be adjusted, which the Doctor used to fling the Not-thing impersonating Donna out of the ship. (TV: Wild Blue Yonder [+]Loading...["Wild Blue Yonder (TV story)"]) The entrance walkway had a floor panel from which the Fifteenth Doctor found a fairground hammer. History[[edit] | [edit source]]
Following his adventure with Donna Noble and Beep the Meep, the Fourteenth Doctor returned to the TARDIS to find the interior had changed, much to his delight. (TV: The Star Beast [+]Loading...["The Star Beast (TV story)"])
This control room was temporarily destroyed when Donna Noble accidentally spilled coffee on the console, causing the Doctor to complain that he'd liked the new design. When the Doctor triggered the TARDIS to regenerate from the damage, it simply repaired the console room, rather than replacing it outright (TV: The Star Beast [+]Loading...["The Star Beast (TV story)"], Wild Blue Yonder [+]Loading...["Wild Blue Yonder (TV story)"]) as the TARDIS had previously done after regenerating from the Tenth and Twelfth Doctor's regenerations. (TV: The Eleventh Hour [+]Loading...["The Eleventh Hour (TV story)"], Twice Upon a Time [+]Loading...["Twice Upon a Time (TV story)"], The Ghost Monument [+]Loading...["The Ghost Monument (TV story)"])
After the Fourteenth Doctor's bi-generation, the Fifteenth Doctor used the last remnants of the Toymaker's power to apparently duplicate the TARDIS. The control rooms of both TARDISes were identical, save the Fifteenth Doctor's version including the new TARDIS jukebox, which surprised the Fourteenth Doctor, and the addition of a wheelchair ramp that folded out from the bottom of the TARDIS doors.
Before departing on his adventures, the Fifteenth Doctor quickly changed the roundels' colour to orange. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) When Ruby Sunday came aboard for the first time, the interior appeared white again.
