Eileen O'Shaughnessy was the wife of George Orwell. In her thirties, she travelled to Spain alongside her husband. There she worked as McNair's secretary, producing the ILP newsletter to be sent back to England. Eileen stayed at the Hotel Continental and George, who had been fighting in the Spanish Civil War, joined her for some time.
After George went missing in action, Eileen headed to the front to try and find him. There she met the Eighth Doctor and persuaded him to help find George. (EDA: History 101)
- Eileen's surname is not given in History 101, but as it is speaking in a historical capacity, the intended characterisation is clear.
