Story Notes
- The time rotor is removed, the first and only time this has occurred.
- This serial was supposed to have been followed by one more, Shada, however due to a strike, production of Shada was abandoned, making Horns of Nimon a premature season finale. As such it marked the end of several eras: it featured the final use of the original 1963 arrangement of the "Doctor Who Theme", from the 1967 remix by Delia Derbyshire, and the last use of the diamond-shaped series logo and "tunnel" opening sequence by Bernard Lodge, which had been in place (with some modifications) since The Time Warrior

Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors
- One of the most frequently cited on-screen bloopers in Doctor Who occurs when the actor playing Soldeed breaks character and starts to laugh during his death scene.
- The co-pilot's trousers rip at the end of episode three when the Nimon kills him.
- In episode four Soldeed's body disappears from where it fell.

- In NA: Lungbarrow Romana gives the Doctor her sonic screwdriver.
- BFA: Seasons of Fear also features the Nimon.
